About six months ago, my doctor told me that, as someone living with diabetes, I needed to take action urgently. I was also dealing with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. The warning made the situation feel immediate.

My medication did not change. My doctor knew that and emphasized changing my diet rather than relying on medication alone. I understood the advice. The hard part was turning it into decisions at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and every snack in between.

KetoLock made the advice visible at the table

I used KetoLock to photograph meals, review the foods it recognized, and look more closely at the portions. It helped me notice all the things that had been easy to overlook: oversized servings, hidden carbohydrates, sauces and extras, and foods that looked healthy without necessarily fitting the way I needed to eat.

The scan was not a medical verdict, and it was not always the final answer. It was a prompt to stop and check. I could correct the foods, change a portion, use a package label when one was available, and create a record instead of depending on memory.

The results I can document

Over roughly six months, my weight went from 205 pounds to approximately 180—a loss of 25 pounds. A previous laboratory result showed an A1C of 6.9%; my latest A1C is 5.7%.

My current Canadian lipid panel reports total cholesterol of 3.85 mmol/L, LDL cholesterol of 1.72 mmol/L, HDL cholesterol of 1.47 mmol/L, non-HDL cholesterol of 2.38 mmol/L, and triglycerides of 1.7 mmol/L. I do not have the full earlier lipid panel available for a numerical comparison, so I am not claiming a specific measured reduction here.

These are my personal results during a period when I followed my doctor’s dietary advice and used KetoLock to support everyday food decisions. They do not show that KetoLock alone caused the changes, and another person’s results may be different.

What changed most was the moment before eating

Instead of deciding that a plate was probably fine, I began looking at what was actually there. The camera made the pause easy. Reviewing the result made the pause useful. Over time, those repeated decisions helped me follow through on the dietary changes my doctor had recommended.

Start by checking one real meal

Photograph the plate, review the foods and portions, and use the result as a starting point—not a diagnosis or a substitute for professional care.
